The Tambopata Research Centre’s advantage is its location. The lodge sits within the Tambopata National Reserve, facing the Bahuaja Sonene National Park, deep in the Peruvian Amazon, making it one of South America’s remotest lodges. The lodge is immersed in one of the world’s most biodiverse forests, surrounded by a plethora of wildlife, an ideal location for those who love nature and photography.
Other noteworthy features of the lodge include its extensive 304-meter-long network of raised walkways situated amidst the trees and ground-level habitats where wildlife is most abundant. Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado and subsequent transfer to the lodge, you will be treated to two visits to the Colorado and Chuncho macaw clay licks. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in the lodge’s ongoing biodiversity research program spanning back to 1989.
