INKATERRA MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO HOTEL

Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu.

The Inkaterra Association was established to preserve the environment, ecosystems, cultural, archaeological, and natural resources while maintaining ecological balance. It also focuses on supporting Peru’s cultural identity and promoting sustainable development. A portion of Inkaterra’s profits is reinvested into the association’s initiatives, including environmental education for local children in Machu Picchu Pueblo, research programs, and the management of an orchid garden at the hotel, which houses over 300 species. Additionally, the association runs a rescue and conservation project for the Spectacled Bear, a critically endangered species. The Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel also offers a “Tea Excursion” at the Tea House, where guests can learn about tea-making techniques and participate in the preparation process. Nestled among waterfalls and gardens at the base of Machu Picchu, whitewashed cottages with eucalyptus beams line the stone paths. The property boasts 372 varieties of orchids and 18 species of hummingbirds, offering guests various excursions, such as bird-watching, orchid tours, and a twilight nature walk.
